Check your GPU and OS, download the editor for Windows or macOS, install it, and get ready to test on an Android phone.
This page takes you from "nothing installed" to "Project Hub on screen".
Krotox renders only through Vulkan 1.3, so the one thing that matters most is your graphics card and driver.
| Windows | macOS | |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit | macOS 12 (Monterey) or later |
| Processor | x64 | Apple Silicon (M1 to M4) or Intel x64, one universal build |
| Graphics | A GPU with Vulkan 1.3: NVIDIA Maxwell, AMD GCN 2.0, Intel Iris Xe or newer | Vulkan is translated to Metal by MoltenVK, bundled |
| Already bundled | DirectX Shader Compiler, Mono 6.x runtime | The Vulkan-to-Metal layer |
Update your graphics driver first. Most "it will not start" problems on Windows are an out-of-date driver that does not expose Vulkan 1.3.
The Lavapipe software renderer is bundled, so the editor can still open. It runs much more slowly than a real GPU, so use it to look around rather than to work.
.zip.You can use either option:

You can build and test everything on your desktop first. When you want to run on a real phone:
